CELEBRATING QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT DAY 2016

Smile (Sharing Moments and Illuminating Lives Everywhere) Club Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an event to pay tribute to the freedom Fighters on the occasion of "Quit India Movement" day on 9th August 2016. Smile Club Coordinator Ms. Priyanka Upadhyay and other student coordinators celebrated the day by singing patriotic songs and talking about freedom fighters.
On 9th August, 1942 the Quit India Movement began which later triggered the British leaving the country and India attaining independence on August 15, 1947 a few years later. Quit India Day is observed every year on 9th August to mark the anniversary of Quit India Movement. Quit India Movement was a turning point in India's struggle for freedom. Father of the nation, Gandhiji gave a call to the masses and urged them to raise their voice against British and asked them to"Quit India".
The videos were shown to students to create awareness about the historic day in India's freedom struggle as it reminds us of the country's hardship and also about the long series of sacrifices made by the revolutionary leaders. Wg.Cdr. (Rt.)T.P.N Singh also briefed the students about the freedom fighters and Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
The program ended by singing National Anthem and giving a salute to the freedom fighters.
