Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) - Technology Development Center (TDC) to establish Centre of Excellence for Smart Manufacturing (CoESM) - School of Metallurgy for Skill Development on 17th August 2016. The center is one its kind and first in NCR.
MSME - TDC is a national level training and R & D Centre under Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. The Centre is one of the twelve autonomous Training and Research Centers in India and is specialized for Training and Research in the area of Foundry & Forging. The center has been established to upgrade the technological base of Casting & Forging industries of the country and to provide skilled manpower to industries.
The CoESM was inaugurated by Mr. R. Panneerselvam, Principal Director, MSME - TDC in the august presence of Mr. Pravin R. Joshi, Assistant Director, MSME Technology Development Centre (PPDC), Agra, Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga, Director DGI, HODs and students. CoESM will bridge the gap between industrial requirement of skilled workforce and its availability.
The CoESM is established with an objective to:
1. Make the youth of the country employable by imparting vocational training that bridges the competency gaps to enable the youth to get into the job from the day one.
2. Make the nation progressive by providing relevant training to the people who are at the bottom of the pyramid & thus eradicating the existing skill gap.
3. Empower the industries by conducting Management Development Programs to equip the young managers with the required skill set.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Panneerselvam said that the CoESM will offer technical and non-technical courses covering Foundry, Forging, Manufacturing, Automation, Design Soft Wares, IT, Management, Business Building and Entrepreneurship Development, enabling the concept of Smart Manufacturing. The courses offered will enhance the technical competencies of the students which in turn will fetch them good jobs.
Mr. Pravin Joshi highlighted various courses offered by the center and he said that DGI has taken a valuable step forward in sync with the Government's approach of "Kaushal Bharat, Kushal Bharat".
Prof. D. V. Bhise, HOD (ME) delivered Vote of Thanks. He appreciated all efforts and cooperation extended by Mr. Panneerselvam in setting up of CoESM. He also extended his regards to all faculty members for their cooperation in setting up of CoESM.
