Industrial Visit to National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC)

An industrial visit to National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) Okhla, New Delhi was organized under DCE ISTE Student Chapter by Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on5th August, 2016. 48 students along with faculty members Mr. Gaurav Siwal and Ms. Priyanka visited the corporation.
Mr. Zufail Hassan, Coordinator - NSIC, welcomed the students and briefed them about NSIC. He said that NSIC has been working to fulfill its mission of promoting, aiding and fostering the growth of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. The Technical Services Centre in Okhla, New Delhi is engaged in providing services to MSME units by providing skilled and professional workforce by imparting training on demand driven, industry oriented courses in various fields like, Mechanical Workshop, Information Technology, CAD/CAM & CNC, Multimedia & Animation, Electrical & Electronics, Entrepreneurship Development etc.
Mr. Hassan said that the curriculum of each training program is defined in such a way so as to give maximum practical exposure through training sessions. He informed that more than 40,000 trainees have already been trained by the Centre and successfully placed in companies including Munjal Showa, Motherson Sumi, Mitsubishi Electric Co., HCL Infosys Ltd. through campus placement.
Mr. Joydeep Mukherji, Financial Advisor - NSIC, also interacted with students. He described various schemes by NSIC, MSME and Govt. of India meant to help and promote small and medium scale industries. He discussed all the financial and marketing aspects of such industries.
Students were taken to incubator where they were shown the machineries used in paper and pulp industry, used in producing tissue and tissue rolls, sauce and ketchup production, cereals polishing and packaging. Other machineries to produce nails, and manufacturing PET bottles were also shown.
The visit proved to be very informative for the students.
