Industrial Visit to
"Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., New Delhi"
25th November 2025
SAEINDIA Collegiate Club of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, organized an insightful Industrial Visit to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC), Shastri Park, New Delhi) on 25th November 2025 for B.Tech 1st- and 2nd-year students. A team of 30 enthusiastic students, accompanied by Mr. Ankur Sachdeva (Assistant Professor, ME), visited the state-of-the-art DMRC Academy under the supervision of Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh (HOD, ME) and Dr.Pawan Sharma (HOD, APS).
The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to advanced metro technologies and the multidisciplinary engineering systems that power one of India’s most efficient mass transit networks.
The students were warmly welcomed by Prof. Mukesh Kumar (Rolling Stock, DMRC Ltd.) and other officials who introduced the functioning, technological evolution, and safety-driven approach of DMRC. During the visit, students explored the Signalling & Control Systems Lab, experienced ATC/ATO/ATP/CBTC technologies, observed advanced train operation simulators, and visited the Rolling Stock Maintenance Section.
Members of the SAEINDIA Collegiate Club gained valuable insights into traction systems, propulsion units, bogie design, braking mechanisms and emergency management protocols—linking theoretical learning with real-world mobility engineering.
The industrial visit proved to be a highly enriching experience, enhancing students’ understanding of integrated civil, mechanical, electrical, and communication engineering within large-scale metro operations.
The exposure boosted their technical confidence, industry awareness, and motivation to innovate in the field of transportation and mobility solutions. The institution extends heartfelt appreciation to DMRC for its support and to the SAEINDIA Collegiate Club coordinators for ensuring a successful and impactful visit.
