Industrial Visit to "Ingersoll Rand Technology and Services Pvt. Ltd"

SAE India Collegiate Club, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an industrial visit to “Ingersoll Rand Technology and Services Pvt. Ltd, Sahibabad Industrial Area, Sahibabad, U.P. ” for B. Tech (ME) II and III year students on 11th November, 2024. Faculty members Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh (HOD, ME) and Mr. Ankur Sachdeva (Assistant Professor, ME) along with the students went for the visit.
The objective of the industrial visit was to make the students understand the various industrial processes, creating awareness among the students regarding the various skills required and making them industry ready.
Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has always emphasized Indigenous products through his “Vocal for Local” Campaign, which is popular on a massive scale. In line with the mission, DGI took a step forward in raising students' awareness by helping them understand the ground realities of the mission.
Mr. Punit Goel (Quality Manager) welcomed the students and introduced the company to the students. He briefed students, the various sections of the company- Manufacturing, Quality, Assembly and Air hoisting along with the safety precautions to be taken during the visit. He provided the necessary safety goggles and shoes to the students for the visit. Parts of the Pneumatically and battery-operated Impact Wrench, Grinders, Motors, etc. are manufactured, assembled, inspected and packed in the plant for supply in India and Overseas.
In the manufacturing section, he showed the various power tools such as CNC lathe machine, CNC milling machine, CNC drilling machine, CNC surface grinders, honing machines, and Lokuma machines being used in the company for the manufacture of the various parts. He also took the students to the Quality Section where the parts are checked for various parameters using equipment such as a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Profile projector, Gauge blocks, etc.
DGI students were then taken to the Assembly section where the parts of the impact wrench, grinder, motors, etc. were being assembled. The students were excited to see the assembly of the parts of the various products and asked regular questions about the various parameters like torque and run-out from the section incharge. Finally, the air-hoisting section was shown to the students where different machines were installed to lift the different categories of weights.
It was an exciting and enlightening experience for the students and a privilege to meet one of the leading multinational companies (MNC) in the country.
