Khelo India 10 KA DUM, Empowering Women through Sports

NSS Unit of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized “Khelo India 10 KA DUM, Empowering Women through Sports”, under the banner of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and an initiative of Sports Authority of India. Various Sport activities were organized under the initiative from 10th – 25th March, 2023. The female faculty members students and staff members of the college enthusiastically participated in all the sport activities. NSS Coordinator, Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj coordinated the events
The purposes of organizing the event were manifold which included:
- Focus on ethical behavior and moral fortitude
- Fostering a sense of community: The event created a sense of community among female athletes and supporters, providing opportunities for networking, mentorship, and collaboration.
- Empowering women through sports: The event focused upon empowering women by building confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of achievement through sports.
- Promoting health and well-being: The event encouraged physical activity and promoted the health and well-being of women through sports.
The event was inaugurated on 10th March, 2023 by Dr. Seema Shukla (Director, DGI – Greater Noida.) Her motivational words left a lasting impact on the participants, encouraging them to continue pursuing their passion for sports and promoted the spirit of healthy competition.
The event featured a variety of exciting sports activities, including badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, kho-kho, cricket, football, cycling, yogasana, snooker, athletics, basketball, chess, and more.
The participants exuded energy and enthusiasm, displayed true sportsmanship and dedication throughout the event. Their wholehearted participation and impressive performance set the bar high for future sports events at DGI.
Overall, the purpose of Women's Day celebration and organizing various sport activities was to create a more inclusive, equal, and just society for women and girls worldwide.
