Visit to UNNATI MAHOTSAV & EXPO

Prof. Krati Hardya (Assistant Professor) along with students of 3rd Yr Mechanical Engineering from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended “UNNATI” Mahotsav & Expo on 17th - 18th March, 2023 organized by the National Coordinating Institution of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, IIT Delhi.
The program focused on technology demonstration and dissemination by the participating Institutes. The various technologies identified by regional coordinating institutes at the “Tech4Seva-regional level” were showcased in the program.
Day 1: 17th March 2023
The program began with the welcoming of the Chief Guest, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, & Special Guest, Shri Harsh Chouhan, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
During the first half of the program, Prof. V. K. Vijay, National Coordinator, UBA and Prof. Vivek Kumar, National Co-Coordinator, UBA provided an overview of the objective, the vision, the mission, the strategy and the ethos of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The work of regional coordinating institutes and participating institutes in the rural development and the technology intervention was also addressed by the Prof. V. K. Vijay.
Later, Shri Harsh Chouhan, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes gave keynote on UBA. He explained how to deal with the challenge of community participation. In his keynote, he said, “Involve in the community to evolve a plan instead of involving a community in your plan and work on the evolved plan with the community”.
The program was followed by the address from Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar with his valuable words. He highlighted some research projects taken up by IIT Delhi. He also described the salient features of the National Education Policy.
The program was followed by the Launch of New UBA Web Portal by the Chief Guest, Dr. Subhas Sarkar
The second half of the program began with inauguration of “UNNATI” Mahotsav & Expo followed by UNNATI Technology Demonstration.
The program was followed by presentation on technologies demonstrated in Expo. At first, presentations based on “Artisan and Livelihood Theme” were taken up. Cow Urine Distillation Plant for villagers, Patal Plate Making Machine, Germanium Oil Extraction & a Natural and Renewable Resource Cleaning Machine were some of the technologies of attraction from Artisan and Livelihood Theme.
The program was followed by presentation and discussion based on “Energy Theme”. Many of the technologies were based on energy source as Solar Energy, viz, Solar Operated Paddy Thresher, Design and Development of Smart Solar Street Light (having wiper arrangement), Solar Dryer, etc.
The first day of the program ended with Presentation on Technologies based on “Agriculture Theme”.
Day 2: 18th March 2023
The second day of the workshop began with presentation and discussion on technologies based on the “Water and Sanitation Theme” and the “Basic Amenities Theme”. It was a parallel session that took place at two different venues at IIT Delhi. Technologies of attraction included Capacitive Deionization of water, Pocket Size Device for Water Quality Testing in Aqua Culture, IOT Based Automatic Tank Cleaner for Drinking Water, Hydraulic Ram Pump. A Mini Hydro Power Project, was unique in itself as it was intervened by a farmer to fulfil his household requirement of electricity (located in outskirts). The session was followed by Panel Discussion on Technology Dissemination.
The program was then addressed online by Shri Gajanan Dange, President, YOJAK Center for Research and Strategic Planning for Sustainable Development. He focused on the strategies that should be undertaken to successfully reach out the need of the villages.
The program ended with the certificate distribution to the participants, who demonstrated and presented their technology in the program.
