Faculty member, Dr. Kaustubh Kumar Shukla (Assistant Professor, ECE Dept.), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida was invited as a Guest Speaker for a webinar entitled “Emerging Trends and Applications of Microsystems” on 3rd March, 2023 by Annapoorana Engineering College, Salem, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Shukla covered the following contents during his session while interacting with faculties and students.
- Introduction of MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems)/Microsystems: - Under this, the major discussion was made about why MEMS or necessity of MEMS based research is essential at present scenario.
- Assessment Methods and Materials: - In this section importance of literature survey to set the objectives of the research was explained. Additionally, discussion was made about possible methods and significant materials for the Microsystems based research work.
- Design and Analysis: - Key objectives of this section was to make the students aware about the open source software and modeling of 2D or 3D devices using multi physics software like COMSOL.
- Emerging trends and future scopes: - Under this section some latest research works along with their future trends were explained. Additionally, some important links were provided as a source of information for the participants.
Finally, queries from the students were settled and the session concluded with a vote of thanks. This webinar was an eye-opener session for all the participants.
