Short Term Training on "Enhancing Soft Skills and Personality"

‘When going gets tough, the tough gets going.’ In order to motivate students and develop their personality, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in association with Veteran India organized short term training on “Enhancing Soft Skills and Personality” from 20th - 24th March, 2023. Colonel Akhilesh Kumar Das was the Soft Skills Trainer during the training program. 70 students of B.Tech 3rd Year attended the training program.
The main objective of the five-day training program was to enhance participants' soft skills and personality traits to improve their personal and professional development. The training focused on developing communication skills, teamwork, time management, leadership, emotional intelligence, stress management and problem-solving abilities in the workplace.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj (NSS Coordinator.) and anchored by Mr. Shobhit Pokhriyal (4th Year – CSE.) She introduced the speaker and welcomed him on the dais to train the students on the said topic.
Colonel Akhilesh started the session by illuminating the students about how soft skills and personality traits are essential for personal and professional development.
Day 1: Communication Skills
The first day of the training focused on developing effective communication skills. Colonel Akhilesh began the session with introducing himself and sharing some breathtaking experiences of his career. The participants learned about the different communication styles, active listening, and body language. The training also included practical exercises and role-plays to enhance their communication skills. Questions from students were also taken and answered by the trainer.
Day 2: Teamwork
The second day of the training focused on developing teamwork skills. The participants learned about the importance of collaboration, conflict resolution, and effective delegation. The training also included practical exercises to enhance their teamwork skills. He explained the entire concept of Teamwork by sharing his personal experience of paratroops and skydiving and how he achieved maroon beret.
Day 3: Time Management
On day 3 he explained about YUGAS and told how all the four YUGAS contribute to the dynamics of the world, how to differentiate between the different YUGAS was explained during the day. Afterwards, training focused on developing time management skills. The participants learned about prioritization, goal setting, and effective time management strategies. The training also included some time bound practical exercises to enhance their time management skills.
Day 4: Leadership
The fourth day of the training focused on developing leadership skills. The participants learned about different leadership styles, decision-making, and effective delegation. The training also included practical exercises to enhance their leadership skills. He also said, managers could be made, but leaders are born. This is an in-built trait of your personality and could be refined by achieving adequate confidence.
Day 5: Emotional Intelligence and Problem-Solving
The final day of the training focused on developing emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills. The participants learned about self-awareness, empathy, and effective problem-solving strategies. The training also included practical exercises to enhance their emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills.
To conclude, the five-day training program enhanced soft skills and personality and covered all essential skills required for personal and professional development. Participants learned strategies to enhance their communication, teamwork, time management, leadership, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving abilities. With these skills, students increased their chances of success in their personal and professional lives.
