Celebration of "NSS Day"

NSS Unit, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida celebrated “NSS Day” The celebrations revolve around the theme "Not Me, But You" focusing on selflessness, empathy, and community welfare on 24th September, 2023. 85 students participated in the celebration activities. National Service Scheme (NSS) Day was an occasion of immense significance celebrated in the college. It commemorates the foundation day of the NSS, a voluntary organization under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The day aimed at promoting community service, social welfare, and volunteerism among students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj (NSS PO, DGI).
The day began with the hoisting of the Indian flag, followed by motivating speech by Prof. (Dr.) Seema Shukla (Director, DGI) and the NSS officers. In her speech, Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj highlighted the importance of community service and the role of NSS in fostering social responsibility.
College organized cleanliness and tree plantation drive in the adopted village ‘Gari Samastpur’. The initiatives aimed to contribute positively to society while instilling a sense of responsibility and empathy among students. The students also spread the message of clean and green surrounding and also discussed the importance of planting trees. They planted a variety of saplings in the area with the help of the villagers.
Outstanding volunteers, who have contributed significantly to NSS activities were recognized and honored for their dedication and commitment towards community service.
Overall, NSS Day celebration in the college served as a platform to inspire and motivate students to actively engage in community service. It fostered a sense of social responsibility, empathy, and a spirit of giving back to society.
