Orientation Programme (Batch 2023-2027)
14th - 16th September 2023
Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida extended a warm and enlightening welcome to the 1st Year B.Tech students of Batch 2023-2027& MBA students of Batch 2023-2025. The three-day Orientation Program, conducted from 14th – 16th September, 2023, was conscientiously designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the college, its core values, and the transformative journey they were about to witness.
The faculty coordinators of the program were Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Kumar Sharma (HOD, APS Department) and Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj (APS Department.)
Day 1 – 14th September, 2023:
The Chief Guest of the day programme was Dr. Rajeev Mehajan (UN Tech Expert, TEDx Speaker, Ex- Scientific Advisor to GoI), Guests of Honour were Capt. Manjula Katoch (Ex- Army Officer, Certified Soft Skill Trainer from Scottish qualification authority, Tri Athelete of Pinkathon.) and Sqn Ldr (Retd.) Anjali Joshi.
The inaugural day of the Orientation Program was meticulously crafted to offer students an immersive introduction to their academic journey while fostering camaraderie among their peers.
The day commenced with a solemn assembly of students at the venue, marked by a traditional tilak ceremony, a symbol of auspicious beginnings. To invoke blessings and cultivate a serene atmosphere, a panchdeep lighting ceremony symbolizing the five elements and a heartfelt Ma Sarasvati Vandana, dedicated to the Goddess of Knowledge, were performed.
Following the official commencement of the inaugural programme, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Mangesh shared insightful words of wisdom, emphasizing the importance of dedication, perseverance, and a holistic approach towards education. Her words served as a motivating foreword to the academic journey ahead.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Rajeev Mehajan, captivated the audience and guided the budding technocrats on journey of learning and communication for success. His profound insights into the world of technology and innovation were a great help to the students. Guest of Honour Sqn Ldr (Retd.) Anjali Joshi addressed the students and emphasized the role of “Engineers in Innovation & Entrepreneurship” through her inspirational talks. Guest of Honour Capt. Manjula Katoch’s words were a source of inspiration for all and her words undoubtedly motivated the budding technocrats. She engaged the students in various fun-filled activities which included hands on communicative sessions and games related to personality development.
The day concluded with a gesture of appreciation, as students received souvenirs of their first day at college. These souvenirs were symbols of their commitment to the institution and marked the beginning of their lifelong connection with the college, creating a sense of belongingness and pride.
Days 2 - 15th September, 2023:
The Chief Guest of the day was Lt. General Kapil Aggarwal (Retd.) (Director General Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Chairman Services Pay Commission Cell, Technical Adviser Mauritius Security Forces) He shared valuable insights and experiences with the students and guided all to be consistent in all future endeavours.
The day was dedicated to enriching experiences, interactive sessions, and skill-building activities, all aimed at shaping students for the challenges ahead. Certain celebration activities were also planned as the day was observed as “Engineers Day” also.
The program featured sessions that included academic guidance provided by the Heads of Departments and invaluable interactions with alumni. Distinguished alumni from various batches shared their experiences and insights, enlightening students about life beyond academics and the transformative journey that lies ahead.
The day also featured a diverse range of departmental club activities and skill-building sessions. These activities allowed students to explore their interests and potential fully. Students were introduced to the profound significance of Universal Human Values by Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Soryan. These interactions served as catalysts for creativity and innovation, encouraging students to think critically and contribute meaningfully to society. The program also featured gaming sessions that emphasized the importance of innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving. These interactive activities reinforced the idea that engineering is not just about technical knowledge but also about practical application and collaboration.
Day 3 – 16th September, 2023:
The concluding day was a celebration of diversity, talent, and physical prowess, adding a fun and energetic dimension to the Orientation Program. The Chief Guest of the day was Prof. (Dr.) P.M.V Subbarao (Head, CRDT & Professor, ME Dept., IIT Delhi). The Guest of Honour were Dr. Mukesh Jewariya (Sr. Principal Scientist at CSIR-NPL, New Delhi) and Dr. Nahar Singh (Sr. Principal Scientist and Honorary Professor (AcSIR) CSIR-NPL, New Delhi. Dr. Mukesh & Dr. Nahar motivated the students through captivated talks.
Following the technical sessions, a cultural extravaganza programme started where students from diverse backgrounds showcased their talents. The program included captivating dance performances, melodious music, gripping drama, and captivating art exhibitions. This cultural mosaic celebrated the richness and diversity of talent within the college community.
The three-day Orientation Program for Batch 2023-2027 at DGI aimed not only to prepare students academically but also to nurture their values, skills, and aspirations for a successful and fulfilling journey ahead.
