“Research Paper Writing - From Idea to Publication”

Department of EEE/ECEin collaboration with Research and Development Cellat Dronacharya Group of Institutions organized an informative session titled “Research Paper Writing - From Idea to Publication” on 20th February 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Greater Noida campus. The workshop was conducted in offline mode and witnessed the active participation of 37 students from various departments. It aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of academic writing, research methodologies, and the publication process.
The First Session commenced with a comprehensive explanation of the standard structure of a research paper. Participants were guided through the essential components, including title, abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion, and references. Emphasis was placed on maintaining logical flow, clarity of expression, formatting consistency, and adherence to prescribed citation styles. The speakers highlighted how well-structured manuscripts significantly improve readability and increase the likelihood of acceptance in reputed journals and conferences.
Second Session was dedicated to clarifying the distinction between publishers, journals, and conferences, enabling students to better understand appropriate publication platforms. Practical demonstrations of research support tools were also conducted. Participants were trained to use Mendeley for efficient reference management, citation insertion, and bibliography generation in multiple citation styles. Additionally, Microsoft Visio was demonstrated for creating professional diagrams such as flowcharts and system models to enhance the visual presentation of research work.
It included hands-on training sessions on equation writing, research topic selection, abstract drafting, and the use of tools for plagiarism and AI detection and removal. These practical activities allowed participants to apply their learning in real time and gain confidence in preparing quality research manuscripts. The interactive format encouraged questions and discussions, making the learning experience more engaging and effective.
The workshop concluded with a focused discussion on abstract writing, where participants learned how to concisely present the background, objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions of their research. Overall, the workshop proved to be highly beneficial, equipping students with essential knowledge and practical skills required for effective research paper writing and successful publication.
