Annual Sports Meet - DRON SPARDHA 2026

Sports Club, Dronacharya Group of InstitutionsorganisedAnnual Sports Meet, Dron Spardha 2026, was on 20th and 21st February 2026 at the college Sports Ground and various sports arenas. The event was structured on the pattern of the AKTU Zonals Sports Inclusion format to facilitate screening and selection of talented athletes for higher inter-university competitions. More than 500 registered students participated enthusiastically over the two days, competing separately in boys’ and girls’ categories across eight major sports disciplines. Faculty and student coordinators were appointed for each sport to ensure the smooth and systematic conduct of all events.
The sports conducted during Dron Spardha 2026 included Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Chess, Table Tennis, and Volleyball. Athletics featured multiple track and field events such as 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m races, relay race (100×400), shot put, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, and discus throw. All competitions were organized in accordance with AKTU Zonal guidelines, ensuring discipline, fairness, and a competitive environment throughout the event.
The meet commenced on 20thFebruary 2026 with a grand inauguration ceremony. The Director, Dr. Sangeeta Mangesh, was welcomed by AKTU Zonal 2025Gold Medalist Harsh Kumar, while the Deputy Director, Prof. Sanghmitra V. Arora, was welcomed by the Volleyball Team, AKTU Zonal Silver Medalists led by Captain Armaan Chaudhary. The Registrar, Dr. Shailesh Singh, along with Sports Coordinator Dr. Deepak Kumar, participated in a ceremonial sapling plantation symbolizing growth and sportsmanship. The Director delivered an inspiring address encouraging students to uphold discipline and integrity, followed by the official opening of the event and the oath ceremony conducted by Captain Armaan Chaudhary. A vibrant march past and a cultural dance performance by Ms. Pallavi Roka, Ritu Chahar, and Tanishka Chauhan added enthusiasm and color to the occasion.
Following the inauguration, the competitions began across various venues. Continuous commentary and lively music created an energetic atmosphere, while refreshments were provided for participants during breaks. The Media Team documented the event and captured interactions with institutional leaders and participants. By the end of Day 1, all events had progressed to the semi-final stage, and finalists were shortlisted in each category.
The second day, 21stFebruary 2026, was dedicated to the final matches and championship rounds. The competitions witnessed intense performances and remarkable displays of skill and determination. All finals were successfully concluded by lunchtime, and the list of winners was finalized. The closing ceremony began with a musical performance by the Dron Band featuring Hriday, Pushkar Nagar, Sushant, Siddharth Sharma, Piyush, Tanvi, and Anshul, which energized the audience before the prize distribution.
Medals and certificates were awarded by the Director, Dean Student Welfare, Heads of Departments, and sport-specific coordinators, recognizing excellence and teamwork. The medical team from Yatharth Hospital was specially honored for their dedicated support throughout the event. The program was anchored by Garima Sharma, Hriday Verma, and Pushkar Nagar, and the Media Team ensured comprehensive coverage. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, marking the successful completion of Dron Spardha 2026. The event stood as a celebration of unity, resilience, and sportsmanship, effectively identifying promising talent and strengthening institutional spirit, while setting high expectations for an even grander Dron Spardha 2027.
