Seminar on "Improvement of Automotive Road Safety and Vehicle Fire Incident"

2nd year B.Tech students of Department of Mechanical Engineering of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended a seminar on "Improvement of Automotive road safety and vehicle fire incidents" on 6th June, 2023 at International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Gurugram along with Prof. Vishnu Kuntal (ME Dept.)
The seminar was inaugurated in the presence of Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary to Government of Odisha, Mr. Balraj Bhanot, Former Director of ARAI and Chairman of TED-28, Mr. C V Raman, Chief Technical Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Mr. Rama Shankar Pandey, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Green Batteries and Mr. Saurabh Dalela, Director, ICAT.
Mr. Saurabh Dalela, in his inaugural address, apprised the audience on the present road safety issues and emphasized ICAT’s readiness to support stakeholders in the field of road accident research and study. The seminar witnessed the presence of eminent experts who shared their vast knowledge and experience in the areas of advancement in Crash Analysis methodologies, injury biomechanics, crash forgiving road and transportation engineering, hardship faced by stakeholders, perspective of the law enforcing agencies, vehicle fire investigation methodology etc. The event also included a panel discussion on “Indian perspective on automotive safety and role of OEMs for improvement” involving senior officials from Government, Industry leaders from Automotive OEMs and road safety experts from media.
The students learned the importance of road safety and got an overview regarding preparation of various types of parts needed for road safety.
