Guest Lecture on "Industrial Pneumatic and It's Applications

Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organised a Guest Lecture on "Industrial Pneumatic and It's Applications" by Dr. Ajay Pratap (Associate Professor), AKGEC Ghaziabad, Skill Foundation on dated 22nd June, 2023.
Starting the lecture, Dr. Ajay explained the concept of Pneumatics Systems as a branch of fluid power in which gas is used as a fluid. Pneumatic systems use air as the gas medium because air is adequate and can be easily exhausted into the atmosphere after completing its assigned task. He explained that the pneumatic system is less costly to build and operate and thus
find wide application in Automation Equipment. Automation is a quickly expanding field and in a developing country like India, there are immense growth opportunities for an individual because starting from waste and water management to any production assembly line, there is a need for control & automation systems. He further elaborated the applications of pneumatic system in industries like manufacturing industries, automotive industry, processing industries filling, packing, drilling, clamping, and its extensive use in industrial robots.
He further said that the Indian market for automation is evolving rapidly and in order to meet the growing demand and for more flexibility the industries require trained workforce in these areas. He suggested to work towards adopting an interdisciplinary approach for solving the actual need of the modern industries.
The lecture was extremely useful for both the students and faculty members.
