Celebration of "World Environment Day"

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida together with NSS Unit celebrated “World Environment Day” on 5th June, 2023. 85 students participated in the celebration activities. Prof. (Dr). Archana Pandey (Eminent Educationist and Environmentalist) was the keynote speaker.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Seema Shukla (Director- DGI, Greater Noida). The occasion comprised of seminars, poster rallies and tree planting. The theme of the campaign was #BeatPlasticPollution and it is to remind the people that their actions play a significant role in controlling plastic pollution.
World Environment Day, led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has grown out to be a major event that emphasizes on the negative effects of global warming and climate change.
The volunteers from NSS unit held posters and banners and rallied in and around the college to create awareness about the ill effects of plastic pollution.
Seminar was conducted to enlighten students about the current actions against plastic use and pollution.
Prof. (Dr). Archana Pandey tutored the students and told them the ways through which they can help in the initiative and emphasized the role of youth in todays’ scenario on safeguarding the environment. She also focused on depleting natural resources, highly politicized environmental approaches, and slow impactful plans which lead the world on the verge of ecological collapse.
Students pledged to use natural and eco-friendly products over plastic and that also to spread awareness and mobilize participation towards reducing plastic waste.
After the illuminating speech and oath taking ceremony, everyone moved and planted trees in the campus and in the nearby areas of the campus.
