BW Disrupt Women Entrepreneurship Summit

Students and Faculty from Dept. Of Management Studies, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the Two Day BW Disrupt Women Entrepreneurship Summit at IIC, New Delhi on 31st January - 1st February 2019. Dr. Shuchi Mathur, Assistant Professor (MGT) accompanied the students to the summit.
In a world where perception is reality, this summit in Delhi witnessed a conversation with women leaders on why brand building and image building are important, and the important tips for women entrepreneurs to make the most of opportunities present in personal and company image building. The forum was formally started with the keynote session by Mr. Anurag Batra (Chairman, Editor-in-Chief, Business World). Mr. Batra discussed about 3F’s of Entrepreneurship, family, friends and food. He said that when there is a failure, project can fail, idea can fail but the person never fails. He emphasized on helping people realize their potential.
Further remarks were delivered by Mr. Mahendra Swarup, (Founder, Venture Gurukool), about cracking the capital raising code. Mr. Swarup discussed about the venture capital.
During the Panel Discussion on Behind the Scenes: The Co-Opt Model chaired by Mr. Ruhail Amin, Editorial lead, Business World, women entrepreneurs suggested 4P’s, Passion, Paisa, Patience and Persistence to have a balanced work life and quality family time.
On the second day, Ms. Kiran Ray Chaudhury, Co-founder Joint Managing Director, 80 dB Maverick, played the perfect host during the panel discussion. The panel consisted of Amandeep Arora, Head-PR Communications, Doc Prime (A Policybazaar Group Company); Indu Sharma, Head-Corporate Communications, RB India; Prabhjot Minhas, Head-Marketing Communications, Teradata India; Shree Das, Corporate PR Lead, Xiaomi Technology and Vandana Chopra, Head-Brand Communications, KPMG.
When asked how should women give priority to themselves in building their own brand, Mr. Das said, "Probably it’s not in the DNA of a women to go out there and toot their own horns but honestly women are better at communicating and telling the success story, better at sharing what good has been done out there, what we don't realize is that there is a cut throat competition and if you don’t go out there you will probably get over shadowed.
The panelists enlightened the audience by sharing hacks to be a perfect entrepreneur. “Women need to stop being martyrs. Stop trying to do things all by yourself, just learn to priorities and learn to delegate. We have fingers in several pies and become jack of all trades and master of none. Stop being a control freak,” concluded Mr. Chopra.
