NSS Units of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized World Computer Literacy Day on 2nd December 2025 with the objective of promoting digital awareness and highlighting the growing importance of computer education in today’s technology-driven world. The initiative aimed to sensitize students - especially budding engineers -about the essential role that computer literacy plays in academics, professional success, and responsible digital citizenship.
The event began with an introductory session that explained the purpose of observing World Computer Literacy Day and emphasized how computers and digital tools have become integral to every domain, from communication and research to innovation and entrepreneurship. Students were encouraged to recognize that mastering digital skills is not only an academic requirement but also a key to thriving in the competitive global landscape.
An expert talk was delivered by Dr. Bipin Pandey, Head of the CSE Department, who was formally welcomed by Dr. Pawan Sharma, Head of the First Year Department, with a planter presented as a gesture of respect. During his address, Dr. Pandey inspired students by discussing the evolution and future scope of computing, including emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and automation. He highlighted the increasing demand for digitally skilled professionals and advised students to continuously upgrade their technical knowledge. Dr. Pandey also stressed the importance of ethical technology use - focusing on cybersecurity awareness, digital hygiene, and responsible online behavior.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion where students eagerly participated, posed questions, and engaged in meaningful dialogue about technological advancements and career pathways. This interaction added significant value by fostering curiosity, enhancing understanding, and motivating students to adopt safe and productive digital practices.
