INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO CENTRE FOR e-GOVERNANCE (DeitY) NEW DELHI

An industrial visit to e-Governance (DeitY) New Delhi was organized by department of ECE on 3rd November 2015. Twenty students went for the visit accompanied by Mr. Sachin Yadav, Assistant Professor ECE & Mr. Dinesh Kumar,Assistant Professor APS, as faculty coordinators.
The session was started by Mr. Sunil Kumar (Project Manager) of DeitY who explained the Vision & Mission of DeitY. He stated that e-Development of India is the selected approach for transition into a developed nation and an empowered society as per the policy of the Government. He suggested that in order to promote e-Governance for empowering citizens, activities like the inclusive and sustainable growth of the Electronics & IT Industries, enhancing India’s role in Internet Governance, adopting a multipronged approach that includes development of human resources, promoting R&D and innovation, enhancing efficiency through digital services and ensuring a secure cyber space, need to be undertaken with total involvement of the concerned agencies of the Government as well as the Private sector.
DeitY is also working on schemes like e-infrastructure for delivery of e-services, e-industry for Promotion of electronics hardware manufacturing. E-innovation is implementation of R&D framework - enabling creativity and Innovation in emerging areas of ICT. E-learning provides support for development of e-skills and knowledge network. E-security will result in securing India’s cyber space and e-inclusion will promote the use of ICT for higher inclusive growth. Internet Governance will enhance India’s role at the global level.
At the end of the session, a quiz test was conducted for all the students who came for the visit from various institutions. Three students from DGI, Greater Noida secured the following ranks:
