National Science Day (Debate Competition)

NSS units of Dronacharya Group of Institutions celebrated National Science Day on 28th February 2026 with great enthusiasm and an intellectual spirit. The event was organized to honour India’s scientific achievements and to inspire students toward innovation, research, and leadership in science and technology. To mark the occasion, a Debate Competition was conducted on the theme: “Empowering Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Technology for Viksit Bharat coordinated by Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma (HOD, APS) and Prof. Mamta Bhardwaj (Associate Professor, APS)
B.Tech students from different branches and semesters participated, bringing diverse perspectives and innovative ideas to the discussion. The debate hall was alive with energy and confidence as students expressed their views on how Indian youth can contribute to making India a developed nation through advancements in science and technology.
During the debate, participants highlighted several key aspects, including the promotion of research and innovation at the grassroots level, the importance of startups and entrepreneurship in the technology sector, and the role of artificial intelligence, space technology, and green energy. They also emphasized skill development, global collaboration, and the ethical responsibilities associated with scientific advancement. Each student presented well-researched arguments supported by real-life examples, data, and visionary ideas, making the competition intense and intellectually stimulating.
The results of the competition were as follows: Riya Nagar, B. Tech 1st Year (CSE), secured the first position, followed by Riya Singh, B. Tech 2nd Year (CSE), in second place, and Khushi Singh, B. Tech 1st Year (CSIT), in third. The winners were appreciated for their exceptional articulation, depth of content, and impactful presentation skills. Certificates and appreciation awards were given to encourage participation and academic excellence.
The event concluded with a motivating note emphasizing that science is not just a subject but a responsibility toward nation-building. The National Science Day celebration successfully ignited curiosity, creativity, and commitment among students, inspiring them to contribute toward India’s scientific growth and global leadership. Overall, the event was a grand success, fostering scientific temperament and empowering youth to dream big for a self-reliant and developed India.
