Essay Competition on World Intellectual Property Day

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida celebrated World Intellectual Property Day on 26th April, 2024. An Essay competition was organized for the students of B.Tech and MBA departments. Dr. Adarsh Malviya coordinated the event.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of Intellectual Property (IP) in fostering innovation and creativity among budding engineers. The primary objective of the essay competition was to enhance students’ understanding of IPR and their significance in the field of engineering. It sought to inspire students to think critically about how IP can protect and promote their innovations, as well as the ethical considerations involved in IP management.
The topic of essay writing was ‘How Engineers Can Leverage IP for Innovation’. Participants were asked to submit essays of 1,000-1,500 words, demonstrating their understanding of IP concepts and their implications for technology and innovation. The essays were evaluated based on originality, depth of analysis, and clarity of expression.
A panel of faculty members and IP experts evaluated the essays. The top three essays were selected based on their analytical depth, relevance to the theme, and quality of writing. The winners were awarded certificates.
Objective: To enhance students’ understanding of IPR and their significance in the field of engineering.
Benefits: The competition provided students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of IP and its critical role in the engineering profession.
