Hands-on Session on "Internal Combustion Engine"
5th April 2024
SAE India Collegiate Club, Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized hands-on session on the "Internal Combustion Engine" (ICE) on 5th April 2024. Dr. Deepak Kumar (Faculty, ME Department) was the resource person of the session and Arihant Jain was the student coordinator of the session.
The primary objective of the session was to impart a clear understanding of the internal combustion engine, which forms the core of modern automotive technology
Dr. Deepak Kumar started the session with an overview of internal combustion engines, explaining their role as heat engines where the combustion of fuel occurs with an oxidizer in a combustion chamber. The discussion covered essential concepts such as energy conversion, efficiency, and the science behind engine performance. Next, he introduced students to various engine components, including the cylinder, piston, crankshaft, valves, and ignition systems. Each part was explained in detail, highlighting its role in the overall operation of the engine.
The workshop included live demonstrations, where students explored the assembly and disassembly of engine components. This practical approach allowed participants to understand the interconnectivity and functionality of various systems, such as fuel delivery, lubrication, and cooling systems. In the end students cleared their doubts.
the workshop equipped students with valuable technical skills and insights, fostering their interest in the field of mechanical and automotive engineering
