World Environment Day

5th June 2024

To celebrate World Environment Day, NSS Unit, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in collaboration Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) organized “Tree Plantation” and Skit Performance on 5th June 2024.

The objective of the program was to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability among students and faculty members.

  1. Skit Performance:

The celebration commenced with an impactful skit performance by students, highlighting the theme of world Environment Day -land restoration, desertification and drought resilence. The skit effectively conveyed messages on land restoration, desertification, pollution control, waste management and the significance of preserving natural resources. It captivated the audience and instilled a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

  1. Plantation Drive:

Following the skit, a plantation drive was organized wherein students and faculty actively participated in planting saplings around the college campus. The initiative aimed to enhance greenery, improve air quality, and promote biodiversity. Through the activity, the college reiterated its commitment to environmental sustainability and encouraged individuals to contribute to a greener future. Other than the volunteers all the DGI faculty also took part in the plantation. An oath was taken by all to keep these plants safe.

  1. NSS Volunteer Engagement

50 NSS student volunteers under the supervision of Dr. Gopal Singh participated in a special initiative in collaboration with the Greater Noida Authority (GNIDA). The volunteers embarked on a mission to clean and beautify designated areas in Greater Noida. They were engaged in activities such as poster competition, Nukkad Natak, waste collection, segregation and awareness campaigns to foster a cleaner and healthier environment. Their dedication and efforts were commendable, reflecting the college's commitment to community service and environmental stewardship.

The Environment Day celebration was a resounding success, resonating with the theme of "Reimagine. Recreate. Restore." It served as a platform to educate and inspire individuals to take proactive steps towards environmental conservation. The collective efforts of students, faculty, and NSS volunteers exemplified the college's unwavering dedication to sustainability and its role in nurturing responsible global citizens.
