Workshop on VLSI Technologies
4th February 2020
IEEE Student Branch, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in association with 3ST Technologies Pvt. Ltd organized a workshop on “VLSI Technologies” on 4th February 2020 at College campus.
The key speaker of workshop was Mr. Sandeep Gupta, Director, Mr. Abhishek Kumar Singh, Associate Design and Verification Engineer and Mr. Jitender Singh, Design and Verification Engineer from 3ST Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
The objective of the workshop was to make students to interact with domain experts and gain insights of industry demands.
Prof. B. L. Kaul, Honorable Registrar, DGI welcomed experts from 3ST Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Prof. Kaul in his address to the students stressed upon skill development and industry interaction.
Mr. Gupta then started the workshop with introduction to various technologies in the field of VLSI, job roles and prospects in the VLSI design industry.
VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) is the process of creating an integrated circuit (IC) by combining millions of MOS transistors onto a single chip. The historical growth of IC computing power has profoundly changed the way to create, process, communicate, and store information. The engine of this phenomenal growth is the ability to shrink transistor dimensions every few years.
Mr. Abhishek then provided students with example of logic design and implementation. He provided a number of applications like half adder, full adder, ripple adder etc.
Next Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Jitender provided hands-on experience to the students. They made the students implement and verify their logic design on FPGA modules.
During closing ceremony Prof. Kaul presented mementos to Mr. Gupta, Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Jitender. Students found the workshop very useful and were motivated to work further in VLSI Technologies.
