Online Session on Emerging Trends of AI and ML
20th October 2021
CSI Student Chapter, Institution's Innovation Council (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida conducted an online session on “Emerging Trends of AI and ML” on 20th October, 2021 for CSE, IT, AIML, CSIT Department students. 225 students attended the session. Prof. (Dr.) YVK Ravi Kumar (BITS Pilani) was the speaker of the workshop.
He started the session with the quote, “It's going to be interesting to see how society deals with artificial intelligence, but it will definitely be cool.” —Colin Angle.
He mentioned, machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI). The system provided by ML has the ability to automatically learn and improve from past experiences. It focuses on the development of computer programs which can access data and use it to learn for themselves. It provides algorithms which can be up-skilled to perform a task.
He then stated that the efficiency and accuracy keeps on improving with the experience gain in ML algorithms and this allow making better decisions. In daily life also, there are numerous examples, chess playing computers to self-driving cars; rely heavily on deep learning and natural language processing.
He said, in sectors like finance, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture and the public sector, the adoption of AI is pervasive. Since the field has grown a lot both in terms of identity and in terms of methods and tools it has varied options and thus the horizon of jobs has increased.
Adding to that, he said, there is an abundance of computation to run the methods. Hence it’s a great career option in coming future to look up to.
