Online Session on "Plan and Prepare Your Career"

Institution's Innovation Council (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an online session on “Plan and Prepare Your Career” on 21st October, 2021 for first year students. 250 students attended the workshop. Ms. Puneet Kaur Arora (AGM, Precision Electronics) was the speaker of the workshop.
She began the workshop with a question “Are you an engineering student thinking about how to be a successful engineer and build an enriching career?”
She explained students various factors that they need to take to keep their career path ahead of the curve in the future.
She said, career in engineering are getting more complex day by day, and it is necessary for engineers to have the certification to get their career to the next level. For instance, certification in Java script, Python, Data Structure can benefit students of computer science. In the same way short certification courses on robotics, mechatronics, piping design, nanotechnology can benefit mechanical engineering students. The short certification courses also help students to have better chance of getting placed during campus placements.
Then moving towards real time experience in the field of engineering she explained students, importance of internship. An internship provides the work experience that helps students to get practical exposure of the concepts that they gained in classroom. Internship also develops leadership skills and allows students to gain a competitive edge.
Additionally she told students importance of research engineering i.e. paper writing, paper presentation, paper publishing. Research papers are a good way to foster yourself and improve your resume. Moreover she asked students to participate in national and international conferences, engineering competitions and told that these competitions will add to their knowledge and will show up with a good value on your resume. She also described the importance of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership.
In the end, Ms. Puneet Kaur cleared the doubts of the students.
