August 21st, 2015
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology & MCA, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, hosted an interactive Awareness Workshop on Red Hat Linux on 21st August 2015. The objective of the workshop was to spread awareness of the importance of the different Red Hat training and certifications and its immense scope in the field of information technology for students. 80 students from CSE and IT branch enthusiastically participated in the workshop.
Mr. Alok Srivastava, CEO of Network Nuts Pvt. Ltd. was the expert speaker of the session. The event began with the floral welcome of Mr. Srivastava by Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Bagga, Honorable Director, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida.
Mr. Alok Srivastava started the session explaining the ways in which Red Hat certification programs reinforce fundamentals and build proficiency in the area of open source technologies. He briefed the students about the rapidly changing software industry environment and the essentials of earning RHCSA and RHCE certifications as prerequisites for learning of advanced technologies like Chef framework which is used to manage infrastructure easily and Puppet scripting, an open source configuration management tool. He explained the students of the benefits that can be achieved with these RedHat certifications. He highlighted the fact that the official training offered by RedHat comes with hands-on lab sessions after each chapter, together with intelligent scripts that check the correctness of the student's answers, giving them grades and showing the incorrect steps - if applicable- in the answer. The training session is accompanied by a comprehensive test in the last chapter, which collects all training chapters together and makes it project-like with customer requirements and needs, which the student needs to implement LIVE in a limited duration.
He heartily appreciated the initiative of the college to encourage its students for such professional certification courses and asked the students to make full use of the opportunities they are getting by being a part of an institution which is an elite member of Red Hat Linux Academy.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Subhrajit Nag, Head of Department of CSE, IT & MCA and subsequent presentation of memento to the guest.
