ORIENTATION PROGRAMME- B.TECH FIRST YEAR 2015-16
17th AUGUST 2015
Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organised an Orientation Program for B.Tech First Year students on 17th August 2015. The motive of the programme was to make the students familiar with the institutional policies and practices. It was coordinated successfully by Staff Members from Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, DGI. Gr. Noida.
The Orientation Program was carried out in two sessions. The first session was for the students of CSE, EEE, and IT branch whereas in the second session the students of Civil and ME branch were entertained.
Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Bagga, Director, DGI, Gr. Noida addressed the students. He delivered the welcomed speech and introduced the Registrar, the Administrator- Academics and all respective HODs to the students. He congratulated the students and conveyed a message to be industrious for accomplishing their dreams and goals.
Prof. B.L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI, Gr. Noida also welcomed the students while informing them that the institution has completed a successive decade. He said that this institution is ragging free and maintains a healthy environment. He developed a sense of security in the students by telling them about the teacher and taught relationship in the institution. He provided them the phone numbers of the concerned faculties who may be contacted in need.
Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Administrator Academics, DGI, Gr. Noida continued the session by discussing an evaluation scheme and various programmes running in the institution for the betterment of the students. He mentioned that the students have to maintain 75% attendance throughout the session as per UPTU norms. He made an urge to all the students for scoring at least 70% marks to get better results in future and placement opportunities. He informed about the MoUs signed by the institution with various organisations.
Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor, Research & Development Cell made the students aware of the Research and Development activities conducted in DGI and outside the institution as well. He laid emphases on writing research papers and their publications in national and international journals. He shared the previous competition details and performance of the students who received various awards at National Levels.
Ms. Prachi Agarwal, Training & Placement Officer made the session more interactive by asking qualitative questions to the students. While having an interaction with them she informed that the institution has good placement opportunities for deserving students in India and abroad. She named various companies which come and hire candidates from Dronacharya by offering a good package.
The HODs of different departments also took an initiative to boost up the morale of new students to proliferate in their fields and bring technological advancement with their innovative ideas and thoughts.
Prof. H.S. Dua, Head of Department, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering discussed the strategy to achieve their goals by focussing upon their consistent efforts. He emphasized on inculcating the habit of writing research papers and dealing with various projects in a successful manner.
Prof. Subhrajit Nag, Head of Department, Department of CSE, IT & MCA established a healthy relationship with the students by interacting with them in a friendly manner. He discussed the technical points of the concern area wherein students need to develop a cyber- mind to progress. He said that the students need to be rational and creative simultaneously to get desired results.
Prof. D. V. Bhise, Head of Department, Department of Mechanical Engineering continued the session by discussing the scope of Mechanical Engineering and emerging trends and advancement in this genre. He encouraged the students to venture for flourishing in their field by promoting innovative creations and implementing new techniques.
All HOD's and other Heads endeavoured to bring the students at par with Dronacharya's practices and beliefs to achieve success. They emphasized that the students should not only work for achieving passing marks but to be the winners in all the spheres of life.
The program ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Attadeepa Maurya, Assistant Professor, Department of APS. She blessed the students for their better future.
