Workshop on "Capital Budgeting for Entrepreneurs"

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a workshop on “Capital Budgeting for Entrepreneurs” on 16th - 17th November, 2023. The workshop was coordinated by Ms.Sarita Tiwari (MBA Dept.) and the eminent guide of the workshop was Dr. Sahab Singh. (MBA Dept.) 85 students from MBA and Engineering Dept. attended the workshop.
The objective of the workshop was to make students learn about entrepreneurship and systematic management of capital. Workshop closely focused on making the best use of capital mix or perfect capital structure, providing better job opportunities to others and to drive the maximum profit by running the business unit in very smooth way for the inclusive growth of economy.
Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Srivastava (Registrar, DGI) graced the session by greeting the participants and motivated them to understand the significance of entrepreneurship.
Dr. Sahab Singh made the session interactive by discussing the various practical and holistic approaches of capital budgeting, capital structuring, funds raising, decision making and many more. He told the students that how an entrepreneur can make the best use of resources available in the economy and can contribute his/her best for the elimination of vast unemployment problems for uplifting the most vulnerable people and the bottom line of society.
Dr. Sahab Singh, explained the leverage analysis that how an entrepreneur can develop the value of his/her business for the future growth of the enterprise by increasing the ratio of debts to increase the profitability & the market value of the business, and where he/she should be focussed upon, either increasing the turnover or increasing the price of its products, using a live case study during his presentation.
Additionally, Dr. Singh, conducted a hands on practice and made few teams of 2-3 students and assigned them exclusive case studies separately for making their own model to prove the application and to provide the correct feedback over the study.
Finally, for solving the queries of the students, the students were allowed for the open discussion to share their problems. After answering several queries related to Capital Budgeting and its application, the workshop came to an end with the students submitting their models to the workshop coordinator.
Students participated enthusiastically with a strong desire of learning about the topic and extracting the maximum information to establish & run an enterprise in order to become self-dependent.
Lastly, vote of thanks was proposed by the workshop coordinator.
