Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and NBA Accreditation

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a workshop on “Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and NBA Accreditation” on 2nd - 3rd November 2022 for faculty members. The workshop featured Prof. (Dr.) Preety as the resource persons.
The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the NBA accreditation process. It commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) S.K Srivastava (Registrar, DGI), who emphasized the significance of accreditation in ensuring quality assurance and gaining recognition from stakeholders.
Dr. Preety Singh initiated the technical sessions by discussing the vision, mission, Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), and the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework. She highlighted, OBE is a student-focused teaching methodology designed to achieve specific objectives and outcomes through planned course delivery and assessment, focusing on measurable student performance at various levels.
Following this, she elaborated on key terms in the accreditation process including the Self-Assessment Report (SAR), Program Criteria, Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Graduate Profile, Program Outcomes (POs), Course Outcomes (COs), Accreditation Criteria, and evaluation methods.
Next she provided insights into the application process for NBA accreditation and the assessment tools used. She also explained the procedures for attaining program outcomes and program-specific outcomes.
In the next session, she discussed examination reforms and outlined the documentation required for an NBA inspection during the accreditation team’s visit to the institution.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Srivastava, Registrar of DGI, expressing gratitude to the speakers and participants for their contributions.
