Three Days Boot Camp On "Idea Generation And Execution"

With a view to create awareness among students about various facets of entrepreneurship as an alternative career option, Institution Innovation Council (IIC), MoE, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized a “Boot Camp on Idea Generation and Execution” from 17th - 19th November, 2022. The event was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Hari Mohan Rai (ECE Dept.). 80 students from all departments participated in the Boot Camp.
The objective of the boot camp was to make students aware about aspects of innovation as well as Entrepreneurship
Camp started with the motivating speech of Prof. Sanghamitra V Arora (HOD - ECE Dept.). She made participants familiar with different characteristics of entrepreneurship.
On the first day of the boot camp students were asked to initiate Idea. It was a brain storming session wherein students pondered deeply on various themes given to them. Mentors spend time with each team and advised them on filtering their business plan.
The second day of the boot camp started with explaining key aspects of market survey to the students and then they were sent for actual market survey within the premises and took suggestions from various students and faculties to modify their product. Before end of the day, they were asked to get prepared with the final draft of Business Plan based on the feedback received from mentors and market survey.
On day 3, each team got a chance to pitch their Idea to a panel and teams were asked to give presentation and evaluation was done by the faculty members. Best performing team won the competition and was awarded with Achievement certificate and a trophy titled “Best Business Plan.”
Apart from the problem solutions, students also learnt how to make Business Plans & conduct Market Surveys about their idea. Students were made to face situations similar to the problems faced by real life entrepreneurs. Hence, the Boot-Camp helped students to develop an entrepreneurial mind and learn how real life pitching of ideas takes place.
