21st December 2023
Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an Industrial Visit to “Askay’s Solutions” on 21st December, 2023. Faculty member Dr. Swati Srivastava (Associate Professor, MBA Dept.), accompanied the First and Second year students of MBA Dept. throughout the industrial visit. The industrial visit was meticulously orchestrated to facilitate learning and practical exposure for the students. The company, known for its expertise in the manufacturing, assembling, and distribution of premium quality trigger sprayers, flip top caps, and closures in the NCR area, provided a rich educational experience.
The commencement of the industrial visit took place during morning hours from the Dronacharya Group of Institution, Greater Noida Campus, with the college bus serving as the means of transportation. The event garnered the blessings and presence of esteemed figures, including Prof. (Dr.) Seema Shukla (Director, DGI), Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Srivastava (Registrar, DGI), Dr. Ritu Soryan (HOD-MBA), and Dr. Swati Srivastava (Associate Professor, MBA Dept.)
Upon arriving at Askay Solutions, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Umesh (Head of Operations at the firm.) Engaging in discussions with him, valuable insights were gained, revealing that Askay Solutions, with a four-year tenure in the market, specializes in exclusive manufacturing, assembly, and distribution of premium quality trigger sprayers, flip top caps, and closures tailored to customer specifications.
Further information was provided by Mr. Gajendra Singh (Officer at Askay Solutions), elucidating the company's status as a B2B entity, supplying finished goods to renowned companies such as Dabur and Patanjali. The Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of Askay Solutions lies in its premium quality plastic products, exclusivity, and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction.
The industrial visit encompassed a comprehensive exploration of the entire manufacturing process for trigger sprayers, flip top caps, and closures. Observing the intricate process unfold, from the inception where raw materials were transformed into the final products through the utilization of high-quality injection molding and assembly machines, highlighted the meticulous attention to detail. The company's commitment to zero wastage by re-churning and reusing waste materials was also evident. Askay Solutions proudly manufactures and assembles small units in a spectrum of vibrant colors, including Red, Light Blue, Future Blue, Orange, Green, Black, etc.
Mr. Akhilesh Gupta, another promoter of Askay Solutions, shed light on the company's sourcing of raw materials from Reliance Company. The design of molds, manufacturing and assembly of product parts, and the transformation into finished products were detailed steps in the production process, culminating in stringent on-site quality checks. Students also got the opportunity to understand the 5S cyclical methodologies—sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain—which facilitate continuous improvement.
For bulk orders, Askay Solutions employs vacuum packing to minimize transportation costs, and the company manages logistics and supply processes through its network of associated vendors. Skilled labor plays a crucial role in these operations, necessitating extensive training and development to ensure efficient production of quality products. Remarkably, Askay Solutions experienced significant profit during the Covid-19 pandemic by supplying a large number of trigger sprayers fitted to sanitizer bottles.
The initial two years of the company's establishment were challenging due to a lack of awareness about bulk raw material providers, resulting in higher costs. However, the company overcame this obstacle by conducting research, exploring the market, and ultimately sourcing more affordable raw materials from Reliance Company.
The students actively explored all departments of the company, posing insightful questions to deepen their understanding of plastic parts manufacturing and its intricacies. As a gesture of appreciation, Askay Solutions generously gifted Trigger Sprayers to commemorate the students' visit.
In conclusion, the industrial visit proved to be a valuable learning experience and a source of motivation for the students, inspired them to consider entrepreneurship and explore new avenues for the sustainability and growth of the Indian economy. At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Umesh and Mr. Gajendra were invited to guide the students on the nuances of the startup business, reflecting the students' eagerness for further knowledge.
