SPOC Felicitation Cum Awareness Workshop of NPTEL

Dr. Rajat Kumar (SPOC, NPTEL Local Chapter), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended a one day “SPOC Felicitation Cum Awareness Workshop of NPTEL” conducted at IIT KANPUR, Outreach Centre, Noida on 17th February, 2024.
The awareness workshop is for the existing local chapters SPOC and for newly created local chapters SPOC, IIT Kanpur.
Inaugurating the workshop, Prof. Dr. Satyaki Roy, IIT Kanpur and Prof. Dr. Bharathi, IIT Madras, NPTEL along with Prof. Dr. Andrew Thangaraj NPTEL Coordinator at IIT Madras and Project Engineer Vaishali Bahl from IIT Kanpur welcomed all the SPOCs of the local chapters North Zone. Prof. Dr. Satyaki Roy told, it’s been 20 years since NPTEL’s first course came online and then shared the success stories and achievements so far.
Presentation by Prof. Dr. Andrew Thangaraj showed the recent progress of NPTEL platform and informed about the changes made in the current semester such as,
- New Domain Courses in Sports Science.
- New Internship scheme for toppers of respective courses of NPTEL at IIT’s under course co-ordinators.
- Success of GATE Portal which would provide free material for Gate Exam preparations.
- New self-paced courses available at NPTEL+.
- Analysis reports on different criteria, of the semester.
After the inaugural session, presentation followed by discussion with different SPOCs on credit transfer policies followed by their universities. All SPOC’s shared their policies and problems faced by them in credit transfer using NPTEL.
After the presentation session, felicitation ceremony started and certificates to top performing LC’s and SPOCs were distributed by Prof. Dr. Satyaki Roy and Prof. Dr. Bharathi.
Prof. Dr. Andrew Thangaraj also asked the colleges SPOCs to motivate their students for increasing participation in NPTEL Courses.
The workshop ended with the valedictory session followed by National Anthem.
