Session on Innovative Thinking: A Key to Problem Solving and Success

Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE) Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a session on “Innovative Thinking: A Key to Problem Solving and Success” on 26th February 2024. Dr. S.K Srivastava (Innovation Ambassdor) was the expert speaker of the session. 55 students attended the session.

The objective of the session was to equip participants with innovative thinking skills to enhance problem-solving capabilities and achieve success.

The session began with an overview of what innovative thinking entails. Dr. S.K Srivastava explained, innovative thinking involves approaching problems from new angles, challenging existing assumptions, and being open to unconventional ideas. Students were introduced to real-life examples of innovative solutions that have revolutionized industries and solved complex societal issues.

Dr. Srivastava said creativity is the foundation of innovative thinking. The speaker demonstrated how creativity can unlock new perspectives and solutions to problems that seem unsolvable with traditional methods. Examples from history, such as inventions like the lightbulb and the internet, were used to illustrate how creative thinking paved the way for these innovations. A brainstorming activity followed, allowing students to practice generating creative ideas on a hypothetical problem.

The session was very engaging for the students fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of creativity in addressing challenges. The interactive activities provided students with valuable tools to develop innovative thinking skills, which will serve them well in their academic pursuits and future careers.
