Shaping the Future of Country

3 Days Workshop on "Role of Entrepreneur Towards Society"

26th - 28th February 2024

 

Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry Of Education (MoE),  Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida  organized a 3 Day Workshop on “Role of Entrepreneur Towards Society” from 26th – 28th February, 2024. Different activities were conducted during the 3 day workshop.

On the first day, i.e. 26th February, a technical talk on “Advancement in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Domain” was delivered by Mr. Parag S. Kavthekar, Technical Trainer (North Region), BOSCH Ltd.  65 students attended the talk. He started the session by giving a brief introduction about BOSCH Ltd. Further, he gave a snapshot about Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Domain in Engineering. He said, these fields of Engineering used to be the first choices of prospective engineering students, but these days these branches of Engineering have become obsolete. He also highlighted the fact that numerous opportunities are available in the core sector also and there are ample of opportunities available for the students opting for these domains of engineering. Then, he explained about the need of Innovation and research work in the field of engineering domains. He explained the whole concept by way of examples of Emerging trends of Electric Vehicles (EV), Digital accumulation with CAD/CAM, Automation & Smart Systems, Green Engineering, etc. He also stressed upon the CSR initiatives of the small and big entrepreneurs of the nation.

The session was informative and included two-way communication as the students cleared the doubts by asking questions. Vote of thanks was given by Prof. (Dr.) Shailesh Kumar Singh (HOD- Mechanical Department). 

On 27th February, there was an “Idea Presentation” competition. The guidelines for evaluating the presentations were pre circulated to all the students. 68 students comprising 14 teams registered for the competition. The competition comprised of two evaluation rounds. All the teams presented their divergent ideas by way of innovative designs. The teams received valuable feedback on their feasibility aspect of ideas by the panel of evaluators. 5 teams were shortlisted for the second round of competition. They refined their workings based on the feedback received and final 3 winners were announced.

All the participant’s efforts were applauded and the winners were awarded with Certificate of Appreciation.

On the last day of the workshop, a “Group Discussion” was conducted in the seminar hall. The topic of the discussion was “Can Engineers Become Good Entrepreneurs” 40 students participated in the discussion and were divided in two teams comprising 20 students each. Each team was headed by mentor who guided their teams throughout the discussion. Etiquettes of participating in the discussion were also taught to the participants. Initially, the team leader of both the teams was given platform to speak for and against the topic for 10 minutes. Then, the discussion was opened to all wherein all the participants expressed their thoughts on the stated subject matter. The discussion was fruitful and many ideas emerged out from the discussion. 

The three day event was informative, gave a good platform to polish the presentation and soft skill. 

Objective: To make student understand the roles and responsibility of entrepreneur towards the society.

Benefits: Through the activities conducted students were motivated towards innovation and entrepreneurship.
