PHD Chamber has a very chequered career pertaining to Indian Industries. It was started by five British and three Indian Nationals as Punjab Chamber of Commerce in 1905. As on date all worthwhile Industries are stake holders of this august Institution. He stated that behind every start - up is a problem resolution. Start - up is analogous to an elephant wherein entrepreneurial persons take on different parts to improve the system. There are three types of innovation namely incremental, breakup and disruptive innovation. At times large capital is required with enabling environment. Government legislations come in the way which has to be resolved.
Mr. Deepak Pahwa gave the key note addresses and spoke about the Haryana Summit on Innovation. Out of ten shortlisted start - up ideas three were identified for funding. In global innovation index India ranks 81 out of 144 countries. A new term Indovation was coined in place of innovation highlighting the famous Indian Jugaad. Disruptive innovation is order of the day where new markets are created and existing technology is replaced through better one. Patenting is a long process and 100 facility centres have been opened in MSME. Every industry and association should become a facilitator and PHD Chamber is helping entrepreneurs by acting as a hub.
Future ideas were discussed on which the world is bullish about and were as follows:
1. IOT (Internet of Things in which systems will talk to each other)
2. IT version - 6 where every single object will get an IP address
