Celebration of Women's Day

Women Development Cell (WDC) and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida celebrated “International Women’s Day” on 7th March, 2024. The theme of the celebration was ‘Elevating Women, Embracing Equality.’ The event, strategically scheduled a day earlier due to Mahashivratri, unfolded as a remarkable testimony to the institution's commitment to empowerment and unity.
The event began with the warm welcome of esteemed dignitaries, including the renowned guests: Manisha Zaveri (Joint Managing Director of Career Mosaic Pvt. Ltd), Ms. Nidhi Sinha (General Manager at the National e-Governance Division) and Mrs. Shobha Sharma (Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, AFS Hindan, Ghaziabad.)
The traditional Ganesh Vandana and lamp lighting ceremony set a spiritual tone, symbolizing auspicious beginnings. Prof. (Dr.) Arpita Gupta (Director, DGI) presented each guest with a traditional shawl and a plant sapling, emphasizing growth and sustainability. Mementos were then bestowed upon the esteemed guests, creating a sense of honor and recognition.
Dr. Arpita Gupta, in her warm welcome address, highlighted the pivotal role of women in shaping society, acknowledging their miraculous contributions across various fields. The subsequent inspirational address by Manisha Zaveri eloquently echoed the theme, emphasizing unity and empowerment as cornerstones of a progressive society. Ms. Zaveri's words resonated deeply as she underscored the significant role of women in the workforce. Her inspiring message celebrated women's achievements, advocated for equality, and acknowledged the strides women continue to make in all spheres of life.
In her address, she artfully highlighted the theme of the day, "Elevating Women, Embracing Equality," underscoring the significance of unity and empowerment in shaping a progressive society. With grace and eloquence, Ms. Zaveri quoted the Finance Minister, emphasizing the pivotal role women play in the workforce. She shared a remarkable statistic, revealing that an impressive 90 percent of her office's strength comprised talented and dedicated females. This statistic, she noted, is an evidence to the invaluable contributions women make to the professional arena, breaking barriers and excelling in various domains.
Ms. Zaveri's words resonated deeply, echoing the broader message of the day – a celebration of women's achievements, a call for equality, and recognition of the substantial strides women continue to make in every sphere of life. Her presence added a touch of inspiration and wisdom to the event, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all those fortunate enough to witness her address.
Ms. Nidhi Sinha further reinforced the notion of gender equality, stating that there is no longer any distinction between male and female capabilities in society. She emphasized the competence of women across sectors, asserting their ability to navigate and excel independently. The cultural segment featured captivating performances by talented students, including dance and skits, showcasing creativity and dedication.
The "Empowered Elegance: All-Women Faculty Ramp Walk" was a highlight, celebrating the strength and grace of the institution's female faculty.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Ritu Soryan (HOD, MBA Dept. and Dean Student Welfare, DGI) expressing gratitude to all participants, guests, and organizers for contributing to the grand success of the celebration. Dr. Soryan emphasized the potential for miracles in every sector with a positive attitude and belief in oneself, giving special recognition to the student coordinators for their outstanding performance.
