Expert talk on "Systems, Technologies and Applications for Current and Future Defense Use"

CSI Student Chapter, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an Expert talk on “Systems, Technologies and Applications for Current and Future Defence Use” on 8th May ,2024. The eminent speaker of the talk was Mr. Tushar Kanti Patra (CRL,BEL Ghaziabad). The event was coordinated by Ms. Nandini Tomar, Assistant Professor.
Mr. Tushar Kanti Patra is BE (Electronics & Telecommunication), 1993, and MS (Computer Science & Engineering), 2001, from IIT, Kharagpur with specialization in Embedded Real Time Systems. He’s working in Bharat Electronics Limited, Ghaziabad since the year 2001, and engaged in the field of Research and Development of Command & Control Systems and Applications for Indian Defence forces. His current work includes Design and Development of Threat Evaluation & Weapon Assignment software modules for Integrated Air Command & Control System (IACCS), Image & Video Processing (IVP) for CAIR EGIS, DRDO, Analytic Engines for Image, Text Analysis for Defence Applications especially for Battle-field Surveillance Systems (BSS) for Indian Army, Modelling & Simulation, and AI & Cognitive Computing based Agent development for Air Defence System for Indian Air force.
Mr. Tushar Kanti Patra enlighted the students of CSE and CSIT, second year with his vast knowledge of systems and technologies which can be deployed in defence applications like Battle-field Surveillance Systems (BSS) for Indian Army, Modelling & Simulation, and AI & Cognitive Computing based Agent development for Air Defence System for Indian Air force etc. Mr. Patra enlightened the students on the significance of incorporating quality literature into their lives. The conversation included the detailed discussion about Design and Development of Threat Evaluation & Weapon Assignment software modules for Integrated Air Command & Control System (IACCS), Image & Video Processing (IVP), text analysis for Defence Applications. He emphasized on the involvement of young mind in the design and development of artificial intelligence-based systems so that it can strengthen Indian Defence System.
The session concluded with heartfelt gratitude extended to Mr. Tushar Kant Patra for generously sharing his valuable time and insights with DGI students on the latest trends and technologies utilized in Defence. Lastly in appreciation, Dr. Arpita Gupta (Director, DGI) extended a vote of thanks and honored him with a memento and a sapling as token of respect.
