National Technology Day

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida celebrated “National Technology Day” on 11th May, 2024. 55 B.Tech students from ECE and ME departments participated in the lecture delivered by Ms. Mokshi Khatana (Faculty, DGI). The day was celebrated to commemorate the historic Pokhran nuclear tests conducted by the Indian Army in Rajasthan in 1998.
The objective of the session was to inspire students to embrace technology for national growth and innovation.
The event highlighted the theme, 'From Schools to Startups: Igniting Young Minds to Innovate,' encouraged young innovators to explore and advance in the world of technology. It was an inspiring day filled with discussions and insights, all geared towards shaping the future of tech. The lecture emphasized the pivotal role that engineers play in national progress. Ms. Mokshi encouraged students to take pride in their profession, as engineers have the power to solve complex challenges and drive economic growth. To connect with students, Ms. Mokshi highlighted current technological trends that are revolutionizing industries, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), renewable energy, and 5G technology. Students were urged to keep up with these advancements and actively participate in research and innovation in these fields. Special focus was placed on how technology can solve societal problems, such as smart cities to tackle urbanization issues or green technology for environmental sustainability.
A portion of the lecture was dedicated to celebrating India’s achievements in technology. From advancements in space technology by ISRO to innovations in healthcare and education, the faculty outlined India’s journey as an emerging tech leader. She encouraged students to pursue not only careers in engineering but also entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of startups and innovation under the banner of Make in India and Startup India initiatives.
Lastly, students were reminded that their engineering education is not just about acquiring technical skills but about becoming problem-solvers who can innovate for the betterment of humanity.
