51st Annual Convention - CSI: 2016

Computer Society of India (CSI) organized its 51st Annual Convention at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu during Jan 23 - 25, 2017. The year 2016 Convention focused on the theme “Digital Connectivity - Social Impact”. Ms Shalini Sharma, (SBC, CSI Student Branch, DGI, Greater Noida)attended the Convention on 25th Jan 2017.
Session 1: 25th January 2017
Dr Nishanth ChandrafromMicrosoft Research India, made a detailed presentation on “Protecting Data and Code in the Cloud”. He discussed Cloud adoptions trends and the threat model. He also explained the concepts of encryption of data in the cloud environment to protect it from hackers. During his lecture, Mr Nishanth also covered System Architecture and Encryption Techniques and Performance Evaluation of the systems.
Dr. Durgesh Kumar Mishra, Chairperson - CSI presented a memento to Dr Nishanth Chandran.
Session 2: 25th January 2017
Mr. Srikanth Narasimhan, Distinguished IT Engineer at Cisco Systems presented his view on BYOD in Digital Era. He explained the changing trends in the mobile industry from the Year 2000 to Year 2015. He gave overview of the futuristic five - year span of CISCO.
This session ended with memento presentation to Mr. Srikanth Narasimhan by Dr A K. Saini, Chairperson - CSI.
Session 3: 25th January 2017
51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of CSI was organized, which was attended by CSI Board Members:
- Prof. Dr Anirban Basu (President - CSI)
- Mr. Sanjay Mohapatra (Vice-President - CSI),
- Prof. A.K.Nayak (Hon. Secretary - CSI)
- Mr. R. K. Vyas (Hon. Treasurer - CSI)
70 CSI - SBC from different colleges also attended the meeting. The agenda of the meeting was to confirm the Annual Report and Audit of Accounts for the Financial Year 2015 - 16.
Session 4: 25th January 2017
The eventual carnival of CSI Convention, CSI Annual Awards Ceremony was held. SBCs were felicitated with 150 awards under different categories. Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida won the Best Accredited Student Branch Award in Region-1.
Prof. Dr. Anirban Basu, Mr Sanjay Mohapatra, Prof. A.K. Nayak and Mr. R. K. Vyas presented the Best Accredited Student Branch Award to Ms Shalini Sharma (SBC, CSI Student Branch, DGI, Greater Noida).
This grand celebration came to an end with the feedback of different Student Branch.
