QEEE Session on
Fundamental of Laplace Transform
24th January, 31st January and 02nd February, 2017
The QEEE session on ‘Fundamental of Laplace Transform’ was organized by IIT, Madras under D2S (Direct to Student)Program at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida through ICT on 24th January, 31st January and 2nd February 2017 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon for B. Tech. 1st Year CSE students. Prof. Gopal Srinivasan (Department of Mathematics, IIT, Bombay) was the resource person for these sessions. Mr. Prassan Sharma (Assistant Professor, Department of APS) coordinated the session as the Local Faculty Coordinator.
Day 1: 24th January 2017
Prof. Gopal Srinivasan shed light on the application of the Laplace Transfom to differentiation and integration. He described the basic differentiation and method of Riemann and Lebesgue Integral. He explained how Riemann integral is related with Lebesgue integral and why we are using the Laplace Transform. With the help of examples he related Laplace Transform to the Improper Integral and explained Radius of Convergence and Lemma of Convergence. The session ended with the Q & A session.
Day 2: 31st January 2017
Prof. Gopal Srinivasan explained Laplace Transformation with Riemann Integral. He discussed the Uniqueness Theorem and second shifting property of Laplace Transform. He discussed the initial and final value theorem and also explained the inverse Laplace transform.
Day 3: 2nd February 2017
After the review of 2nd day session, Prof. Gopal Srinivasan explained how Lapalce Transformation is helpful to compute the integrals and integro - differential equations. He further discussed the Convolution Theorem and its advantages. The session ended with the Q & A session.
