Visit to - "Innovation Festival - 2017"

“Innovation Festival 2017” was held at National Sciences Centre, Pragati Maidan from 22nd -23rd January, 2017. Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor (R&D) and Asst. Prof. Ankush Yadav assisted 240 students to visit the center on 20th January, 2017 to witness the projects. The festival was inaugurated by Mr. R. K. Kotnala, Chief Scientist, National Physical Laboratory, Govt. of India. Other dignitaries present were Mr. P. Rama Sharma, Director, National Science Centre and Mr. Vijay Sharma, Secretary, National Science Centre.
Mr. Kotnala delivered the key-note address and expressed happiness over the innovative projects displayed by the students. He spoke at length on the importance of innovation and creativity. Students should have the willingness to take risks and tolerate ambiguity and uncertainties. The most important aspect is opportunity recognition. Today countries are heavily investing in developing entrepreneurship and fostering innovation. Dr. Kotnala gave an overview of his latest invention on electricity generation using few drops of water by invented hydroelectric cell which is a green energy source. Hydroelectric cell is a clean energy source which gives electricity by using few drops of water. This invention has been acclaimed all over the world.
A total of 20 projects were put on display by various Institutions. These projects were shortlisted out of 200 projects received for the event. Dronacharya Group of Institutions displayed four projects, the details of which are given below:
- Human Power Electricity Generator (ME: Students Akash Sharma, Gaurav Chauhan, Sunil & Mohit Kumar)
- Advanced Agro Robot (ME: Ashu Talwar, Ashwani Rathore, Ajay Kumar & Ashutosh)
- Smart Parking System (ME: Akashdeep Chaudhary, Ankur, Deepak, Ashutosh Tripathi and Dron Sharma)
- Hand Talk (ECE: Sachin Verma, Rishabh Kesarvani and Mainak Pakira)
Large crowd witnessed the projects and appreciated the efforts put in by the students.
