Neighbourhood Youth Parliament on Ethical Voting for Sustainable Development and Young Voters

NSS WING of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida participated in Neighbourhood Youth Parliament on Ethical Voting for Sustainable Development and Young Voters on 24th January 2017, at Balak Inter College, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The program was organized by District Administration, Greater Noida in association withNehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India, New Delhi and Election Commission of India.
NSS Faculty Coordinator Dr. Abhishek Swami and Dr. Sunil Mishra along with students attended the program.
The objective of this event was to create awareness for Voting among young first time voters.
While inaugurating the program Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Principal - Balak Inter College, talked about ethical voting in establishing proper democracy in the Nation. His speech was followed by a series of programs including one - act plays and poem recitation by the students.
Chief - Guest Mr. N. P. Singh (IAS), DM (Gautam Buddha Nagar) appealed for responsible voting. He said that it is the key to a developed Nation. He motivated youth to come forward and encourage every citizen of India for exercising their right to vote. He appreciated the initiatives of NYKS, G.B. Nagar for conducting various programs to educate young voters.Mr. Singh also gave a detail of Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP).
Mr. U.P. Singh, Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gautam Buddha Nagar emphasized that each citizen above the age of 18 years must vote as this is not only our fundamental right but a responsibility too. He appealed that in the upcoming elections every citizen should help Divyang in their voting. He advised the young voters to come forward and vote, which would take the society in right direction.
