Industrial Visit Essco Sanitations Pvt. Ltd.

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an Industrial Visit to "ESSCO Sanitation Pvt. Ltd."on 26th September 2016. Faculty member Mr. Rahul Verma along with twenty - two Mechanical Engineering students (V Semester), DGI, Greater Noida visited the site. The main objective of the visit was to make students aware of the process involved in the manufacturing of the bath fittings which they could correlate with the theoretical aspects of the subjects they have been taught so far.
Essco Sanitations Pvt. Ltd. is leading Indian bath fitting brand since 1960. Essco has now presence in more than 35 countries worldwide & is currently the India's largest & world's 5th largest bath fitting brand. Essco has four manufacturing facilities across the country employing more than 7000 people at various levels. Essco Sanitations Pvt. Ltd.is also a proud owner of premium bath fitting range offered under the name of "Jaquar" & "Artize".
At Essco Sanitations, students were welcomed by Mr. Suresh Chandola (Sr. Manager - Purchase), who briefed them with the company profile, its history, national & international presence and current status of company. Then, Company Officials Mr. Sandeep Pandey, Mr Arun Shukla and Mr. Devendra Belwalbriefed some processes of the bath fitting. He explained "Leak Testing" a process used to detect manufacturing defects which helps verify the integrity of products and improve consumer safety. Next he described "Grinding & Polishing" process and said the purpose of the grinding is to remove damage from cutting, planarize the specimen and to remove material approaching the area of interest whereas Polishing is the most important step in preparing a specimen for microstructural analysis. It is the step which is required to completely eliminate previous damage. Then students got an idea of "Electroplating" a process of coating an article with a thin layer of a metal through electrolytic deposition. How "Assembly" of various components are done in the industry was also explained by Mr. Belwal.
At "Casting & Machining unit" Mr. Sanjeev Thapar took the charge to explain the intricacies of "Casting" & "Machining Processes" involved in the manufacturing of the bath fittings. Processes involved in "Tool Room" like making, repairing and storing tools were demonstrated by Mr. Shiv Kumar.
In the end, there was an interactive questions and answers session in which students raised some questions and their doubts which were answered by the company officials.
The visit provided the vital practical insight into the various manufacturing processes & helped the students to correlate their theoretical knowledge to practical implication.
