Meditation Camp

National Service Scheme (NSS) Wing of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a One day Camp on Meditation in the college premises on 25th February, 2015. The camp was conducted by the members of Gayatri Parivar Haridwar. The event was designed to facilitate the participants with positive approach based on harmonious blending of body, mind and soul.
The session was coordinated by NSS student volunteers Rajan Shah and Arshnoor Tandon both from Civil IV Semester. The session began with the floral welcome of Gayatri Pariwar Team members Mr. Rakesh Choudhary, Manager, Gayatri Shakti Peeth (GZB-Center ), Mr. Lal Bihari Singh, Sr. Meditation Trainer and Representative of Shanti Kunj, Haridwar, Mr. Vikas Kumar, Youth Program Co-ordinator, Gayatri Shakti Peeth (GZB) by Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Bagga, Director, DGI, Gr Noida, Prof. B.L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI, Gr. Noida and Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Administrator Academics, DGI, Greater Noida.
In his welcome speech Prof. S.K. Bagga, emphasized on the need of meditation in the present scenario. Prof. Bagga also discussed that yoga and meditation had received global recognition because off its excellent results in dealing the issues of day to day life.
Mr. Rakesh Choudhary highlighted the vision, mission, ethics, and values of Shanti Kunj. He briefed about Shanti Kunj and said that it was founded by the Saint-Scholar-Philosopher, Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya. He also briefed that Shanti Kunj has emerged over the years as a unique center and fountain-head of a global movement of Yug Nirman Yojna .
Mr. Lal Bihari Singh explained the need, purpose and role of meditation in making life more harmonious. He also explained that meditation cultivate those states of mind that are conducive to peace and well-being, and eradicate the negative emotions and feelings. Meditation enhances our thought process, strength and efficiency. Meditation also helps in refinement and creative orientation of thoughts to bring positive changes at the emotional and behavioral levels.
There was a demonstration of the various postures of Yoga including Surya Namskar. Pranayam and Bhujan aasan by the volunteer of Shanti Kunj.
The event came to an end with a meditation session that made everyone experience high level of peace and satisfaction. Dr. S.K. Bagga presented memento to Mr. Rakesh Choudhary and Mr. Lal Bihari Singh. The session empowered the participants with peace and positivity.
