With a view to make up the strong alumni – college alliance, the college invites its valued alumni from time to time in order to groom their juniors. What else can be better than to call the students who have recently under gone the tough selection process of the big brands to share their views with the future aspirants?
Keeping the same in mind, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida invited its B. Tech CSE batch 2014 alumni Mohit Valecha for TCS preparation of the students on February 13th, 2015. The placement online test is scheduled shortly.
The session started at 11:00 AM with a brief start by Training & Placement department. The alumni covered the job description of the TCS and the eligibility criteria for the same. He stated that the main points to focus for the students are:-
1. Quants
2. Communication skills
3. Resume
4. Summary of Final Year Project
5. Certifications (positive as well as negative)
6. Confidence
7. Manipulate to come back
8. Body Language
Furthermore, he started off with the pros and cons of the TCS interview. He stated that everything is online so everything is transparent. The biggest plus point of TCS interview is that no GD takes place, so the degree to mass elimination is highly reduced. Also, non CSE and IT students always have a plus point as the questions asked to them are very basic and the interview is easy to crack.
He then moved to the actual recruitment process which comprises of 4 main points-
1. E-Mail and Quants
2. Technical Round
3. MR Round
4. HR Round
Further he switched to the key points of these rounds. The most elaborative explanation was of the Technical phase and he stated that the following things are covered in this process-
1. Binary Search.
2. Reverse a string
3. Reverse a number
4. Fibonacci Series
5. Prime Number, Palindrome
6. Pattern Printing
7. Algorithms of Adding Two Numbers and printing Names
After a short breather, he discussed the previous year’s placement papers of TCS and did some practical session with the students. Both the alumni and the present batch solved the previous year’s papers and interacted about their doubts.
The session was very interactive and we look forward for more such session with our alumni in the near future.
