Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized a two day Workshop cum Competition entitled “India’s Biggest Civil Championship” in association with ARK Techno Solution in collaboration with IIT Bombay on February 20th - 21st, 2015. 42 students of 2nd and 3rd year civil engineering students participated in the program. Mr. Sarvagya Tripathi and student coordinators Vijay Singh, Prabhat Ranjan Patel and Manendra Kr. Yadav from Department of Civil Engineering coordinated with the trainer from ARK Techno Solution.
Hon’ble Director Dr. S.K. Bagga, DGI, immigrated the session welcoming the trainers Mr. Nishant Singh, Mr. Shatrughan Yadav and Mr. Vishwas. Prof. D V Bhise, HOD CE, delivered his valuable talk to motivate the students.

Each group of student had a task to design minimum five trusses by using software. Mr. Vishwas defined the criteria to choose the best possible design out of five designed trusses, which will students fabricate in next day of workshop.
Day 2 began with Mr. Shatrughan’s presenting various types of joints, their relative importance according to position in truss. He explained that in competitions of this nature, the winning design is often not the most structurally sound or cost effective, but the most efficient.
In the next session trainers provided students with fabrication material. The students had to fabricate one truss out of five trusses which students had designed the previous day.
After fabrication of bridges, testing of each group bridge started. The group of Amar Singh, Mohit Sagar, Aayush Chitransh, Amit Kumar and Rohit kumar, students of Civil Engineering 3rd year, was announced the winner one .
