Case Study Competition on "National Startup Day"

Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida celebrated “National Startup Day” on 16^th January, 2023. A “Case Study Competition” on the topic – “From Start up to Success: An Entrepreneurial Case-Study” was organized from 14^th - 16^th January 2023. 78 students from CSE/CSIT/IT/ECE/ECS/EEE/ME and MBA departments participated in the competition.

The objective of conducting the competition was to boost student’s knowledge and push them to ponder for ideas which in turn helped them to explore strategies followed by different entrepreneurs.

The guidelines for the Case Study Competition were pre-articulated to the students. They were required to submit their workings on 14^th January, 2023 in order to move further to the next level of evaluation. The evaluation of the cases so received were assessed by a panel of judges comprising Dr. Priya Satsangi (HOD-MBA Dept.), Prof. Sanghamitra V. Arora (HOD – ECE Dept.), Prof. (Dr.) Shailesh Kumar Singh (HOD – ME Dept.), Dr. Hari Mohan Rai (Associate Professor – ECE Dept.). On 16^th January, 2023, the shortlisted students were required to present their ideas by way of PowerPoint Presentation.

Students studied the strategies followed by different entrepreneurs like Ritesh Agarwal  (OYO Rooms), Alakh Pandey (Physics Wallah), Gaurav Munjal (Founder of Unacademy), Sachin Bansal (Founder of Flipkart), Ghazal Alagh (MamaEarth), Vineeta Singh (Sugar cosmetics), etc. Then, they prepared a detailed report on the strategies being followed by the entrepreneurs along with impressive PPT’s. All the students enthusiastically participated in the competition and got the opportunity to hone their presentation and soft skills as well.

In the end, all the participants were applauded for their efforts and winners were awarded with the certificates.
