Celebration of Earth Hour

DGI NSS Wing and DGI Eco Club celebrated the Earth Hour on 25th March 2017. Inaugurating the event Dr. Abhishek Swami, DGI NSS Coordinator said that Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) round the globe for the planet. The event is held annually encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non - essential lights for one hour, as a symbol for their commitment to the planet.
On this occasion Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga, Director, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida said that every individual should be encouraged to take accountability for their ecological footprint and engage in dialogue and resource exchange that provides real solutions to our environmental challenges. Prof. Bagga stressed that participation in earth hour symbolizes a commitment to change beyond the hour.
Prof. B. L. Kaul, Registrar, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida said that earth hour is a reminder that the planet, which is home to over seven billion people, is facing serious challenges due to climate change. He said that earth hour aims to engage people across the globe to adopt more sustainable lifestyle.
On this occasion Student and staff member of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida took a pledge to reduce carbon emission by making optimum use of electronic and electrical appliances and switching off unnecessary equipments.
