DELHI WOMEN LEADERSHIP SUMMIT : 2018

The Delhi Women Leadership Summit was organized by Indian Women Network in association with Confederation of Indian Industry and The Nijhawan Group as Corporate Contributor on 8th March 2018 at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi. Sonal Handa and Yashaswi Chaturvedi, students of MBA 2nd year and Mrs. Honey Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Dronacharya Group of Institution, Greater Noida attended the summit.
The summit was divided into two sessions. The first session was dedicated to “Women Leaders: Leading Out Loud” and the second to “Women Safety and Security”.
The summit was inaugurated by Ms. Divya Chauhan - Chairperson, Indian Women Network - Delhi Chapter. The Chief Guest for the first session was Ms. Urve Palo, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, Republic of Estonia. Mr Riho Kruuv - Ambassador to India, Republic of Estonia and Ms Mariela Cruz Alvarez - Ambassador, Embassy of Republic of Costa Rica was the Guest of Honor.
During their speeches, the guests suggested inputs to enhance every woman’s career goals. They suggested the audience to connect and network to share ideas, information, contacts and opportunities.
There were some other eminent personalities as panelist from different areas of work, like Fashion Designer, Yoga Instructor, Wheelchair Basketball Player, Advocates, Editors, etc. They discussed the importance of self-dependence in the life of woman specially in Indian Scenario. They also shared their personal experiences as well as their achievements and suggested ways to maintain balance between their Personal and Professional life.
The session on Women Safety and Security was addressed by Ms. Vijayanta Arya, Additional Commissioner of Police-South Delhi Police with Mr Rahul Makin –Radio Jockey fever 104 FM. Ms. Vijayanta sharedher real life experience in dealing with challenging situations.
The session concluded with Q&A and closing remarks by Ms Isha Bhandari. Students got an opportunity to interact with people from the industry and felt motivated to go the extra mile to stand out in the crowd.
